Teachers are supposed to quarantine for 5 days after a positive test because we are in close contact with so many children. Many of my students live with elderly grandparents.
If I followed CDC guidelines, that would leave me with one emergency day before getting fired (which happened last year when i did quarantine).. The close contact also means I'll probably get the flu or an awful cold at some point.
Obviously, I get vaccinated, plus boosters, every year. But I've still tested positive before with those precautions.
So I guess I'll just lie. I learned my lesson. I've just never had direct instructions from a principal to come into work.
