Employer adjusted my hours on a holiday because “it looked like you worked 20 hours”

TL;DR – I covered a holiday shift, 12 hours, and my employer adjusted it to 4 hours because of the 8 hour holiday pay. Every place I've ever worked, on a holiday, even some of the shittiest such as gas stations, pay you holiday + regular hours, or OT for the full shift, for covering a holiday, even if you got a “make up” day for covering that shift. All in all, I was at ~110 hours this period because of the holiday.

My make up day landed on a different pay period. They decided they needed to lower my 12 hours to 4 hours “because it looked like you worked 20 hours”. This is a company that's never dealt with hourly pay and recently changed some of our contracts to be hourly rather than salary, and also remove our unlimited PTO perk, all while our managers are still regularly OOO on PTO. Am I wrong for calling them out on changing my hours just because they didn't want it to look like I worked 20 hours that day?
