Unpaid Work Calls

Just venting here. I know its the law where I am that if your employer contacts you during non work hours about work related inquiries, they need to pay you for the time. So what happens..I get called on my one off day this week to deal with some work inquiries from managers who haven't been in the last few days and are coming back not knowing what happened during the days they've been on vacation. Despite me and my co workers being the ones supposed to get certain tasks done, I ended up doing 90% of it myself, and my coworkers deflect any inquiries about those tasks to me because “I took care of it”…so they basically admit they knew nothing about what's been going on either, somehow don't get in trouble for not helping out on a task that needed multiple people working on it, and any blame…

Despite me and my co workers being the ones supposed to get certain tasks done, I ended up doing 90% of it myself, and my coworkers deflect any inquiries about those tasks to me because “I took care of it”…so they basically admit they knew nothing about what's been going on either, somehow don't get in trouble for not helping out on a task that needed multiple people working on it, and any blame gets directed to me?

I've been expected to do the work of 4 people singlehandedly with no managers around to provide direction or input, but when managers come back the blame gets put on me?

I know, all could've been avoided by not answering the phone, but that would've led to an even bigger mess/problem tomorrow when I'm back.

One of those moments that makes me want to find another job. Anytime I talk to family about the things I do at work, they assume I get paid way more than I actually do, which also shows how much the company undervalues people.

It frustrates me too becuase no matter where I've worked, there's always people who bend or break the rules with nobody batting an eye, but if I don't do something perfect, or get put at a disadvantage because of it, it's my fault? How do people get away with this so often in all different workplaces! People can have full on parties with friends at work and nothing happens, but I can't step out of line? Again, not a specific workplace problem, it's just annoying.
