I’m a caregiver. I get horrible pay for the work that I do. I feel unappreciated and viewed as nothing but an asset at this lucrative company.
On Friday (when we get our schedule for the following week) I looked at my schedule and found out that I was assigned to a client 45 minutes away, which is way out of my requested work range. I called out on it and told them it was too far away. I would have called out three days ago but they were all on break Friday-Sunday.
Manager called it an unexcused absence to threaten me into taking it. If you get three unexcused absences you’re fired.
I said one word: okay. She was pissed and I’m sure this isn’t the last I’ll hear about it.
This is the most unprofessional job I’ve ever worked at and I hate it. I want to quit so bad but I’m not sure if I can afford to do that.
