My department went through some big management changes earlier in the year, and my new manager brought in a bunch of his people from a previous employer, and had not been keeping me in the loop.
I’ve asked throughout the year how I was doing, what I can improve on, and he’s always said “nothing, you’re doing great”.
Now we just got our annual reviews, and he gave me a very bad rating, totally inconsistent with what he was saying to me in those meetings. On one category in the review, under the comments section, it just says poor performance due to “reasons yet to be identified”.
He’s leaving out any accomplishments I’ve made during the year and down-rating me for not doing things he specifically took away from me earlier in the year.
Any advice on what can be done here? It feels very much like a form of bullying and harassment, but I can’t tell if this just happens to people… I’ve never come across something like this before…
