I never knew about this sub but I’d thought I’d share my story. I got my first job when I just turned 18 at a local McDonald’s. Being there was actually fun for the majority of it and liked everyone there and everyone liked me. I was working part time 20 hours a week with school. I was 5 months in and it was now December, the holidays are coming up. The managers told everyone they had to work 3 out of the 4 holidays in December. First red flag for me. I was supposed to go on holiday after Boxing Day. The holidays that where chosen for me were Christmas Eve and day and Boxing Day. Second red flag. This is what set me off. I was “forced” to work Christmas Eve and day from 10pm to 5am and wake up 4 hours later on Boxing Day and work 9am to 5pm. I lost my shit. I handed in my 2 weeks right away hesitation and didn’t look back. Crazy how they make you work 3 out of the 4 holidays at McDonald’s, part time no less. I don’t miss my job.
