I got promoted to manager! Yay, right? Instead they low-balled me by promising me better opportunities and a salary increase. Guess what? from $4 an hour to $4.5 an hour.
They told me crap about the company being a startup. To give context, I've been with this company for more than one year now. I live in Asia so the salary is like that. Anyway, I was expecting like $8 to $10 an hour increase but nope, just an insulting increase just to give me more responsibilities.
This is the first time I quit my job. No plans, no savings, no backup offers. I'm scared, but relieved that I'm out of there cause I'm being exploited by working long hours and all I get is a pat on the back and a damn “Thank you”.
