Almost exactly a year to the day, I made a post about my now previous employer not allowing us to go home during a severe winter storm. This previous employer of mine fired me a few weeks later for being on my phone during work hours. I hadn't been happier in months, at the end of my first day there a was literally dreading going in the next day. I thought I would always be stuck in sales or customer service industry.
In summer of last year I started my current job and it is just perfect. My direct manager is firm in making sure work is getting done but also fucks around most of the day.
We had a very mild storm last week and my kids had school canceled. When I told work they said “OK, see you tomorrow” no questions asked just cool with everything.
This job is one I see myself in for a very long time and hope that everyone in the sub can find their way into a job you deserve.
P.S. I sit at my desk and type this on my phone at work and nobody gives a fuck.
