This is what I have experienced my first week at my new job. I will be continuing my job search
-
I am hourly and the 20 year old girl training me said “the owners like people to spend our lunch hour on the premises. That why they installed a gym and free snacks.” Nope. I don’t get paid for that hour, I’m not staying
-
my hours are 8-5. I was ridiculed for leaving at 5pm. “Most people stay a little longer to work or just chat.” Well, not me.
-
Forced to listen to smooth jazz for the entirety of the day because it’s professional. But the office hot-head is allowed to have a tantrum screaming “fuck!!” For 15 minutes and nothing is done
-
three other employees are getting ready to quit and have made it know to me
-
I wore a hoodie over my back brace to conceal it. I was told no hoodies. But 5 other people (all men) wore hoodies throughout the week. I am a female and have noticed the men staring at my breasts. I’m very uncomfortable and I wonder if I am not allowed the same attire because they are being gross.
-
been told how important “corporate culture” is, and the “we are all family” mentality is enforced. Weird and I don’t buy into that crap.
-the title and job I applied for was a data entry person. On day one it changed to a marketing assistant. These are two very different positions and I am not grossly underpaid for this role change.
I doubt I will be giving two week’s notice once I find something else
