It has been in the works behind the scenes for the majority of the school year. After many behind the scenes meetings, individual conversations with classmates in the bargaining unit…today, February 20th, 2023 is the day we have finally gone public. I signed my card this morning! This is long overdue—wages have stagnated at our institution for over 5 years. We have no vacation or personal time in our positions. There is no one to advocate for us when something goes wrong in our positions. We need this union! And this is only step one in the long road ahead. WE DESERVE SECURITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY.
