First time posting here. I work in at a small business right next to some train tracks. Greyhound passengers can see right into the windows and one of those windows looks directly into our bathroom. I noticed that people could see in there while I was cleaning at night a few months ago. I relayed this concern to the owner and her response was something like “I just hurry up when I hear the train coming.” I told her that isn’t ok since clients and their children use that bathroom every day and that we need a curtain or reflective film on the window. Her response was a no because it would ruin the aesthetic.
I was unfortunately relieving myself of a hefty pee the other night and the Greyhound passengers all got to see me go pee and clean up in full view. My boss is on vacation out of state and when I texted her what happened she showed the same amount of consideration I’ve grown accustomed to. I’m so angry and embarrassed I got someone to cover my shift today but I have to go back tomorrow. I told her I’m clocking out and using the bathroom across the street until it’s fixed. I’m also going to be warning everybody who uses that restroom.
I need some serious advice on this stupid situation. I’m definitely going to be putting forth minimal effort until I find a new job. The business owner is acting like I’m overreacting but I have a feeling this could have some serious consequences. Any legal advice would be appreciated.
