Boss finally fucked up.

TLDR: Manager forced me to end my 10 minute break in the middle of it to work, now I’m exposing him for everything he’s done. So, I work at a grocery store chain, I won’t name to remain anonymous, and my manager is at most incompetent. Let’s call him Rob. So Rob is not a good manager, despite our store winning the “Store of the Year.” He claims he does a good job, of course, but he only ever works 3 days a week and never closes. He is always delegating and forcing others to take his work, as do the other managers. Above all else though, he loves to make himself seem important. He loves to throw his weight around the female staff, bullying them out of their aisles (lucky not sexually harassing them, he’s gay.), he likes to brag how much work he does, and he likes to…


TLDR: Manager forced me to end my 10 minute break in the middle of it to work, now I’m exposing him for everything he’s done.

So, I work at a grocery store chain, I won’t name to remain anonymous, and my manager is at most incompetent. Let’s call him Rob. So Rob is not a good manager, despite our store winning the “Store of the Year.” He claims he does a good job, of course, but he only ever works 3 days a week and never closes. He is always delegating and forcing others to take his work, as do the other managers. Above all else though, he loves to make himself seem important. He loves to throw his weight around the female staff, bullying them out of their aisles (lucky not sexually harassing them, he’s gay.), he likes to brag how much work he does, and he likes to think people respect him for being a good leader because the store is “over staffed, and we never need to hire more people.” In reality he has done the following:
-Told the entire staff to not hire any more Highschool students, and then immediately hired one of the worst Highschool workers we have ever had the literal next day.
-Caught an employee buying alcohol and consuming it on the premesis, and didn’t fire him.
-Taken credit for multiple of the Female staffs work.
-Openly complained to several workers for how they work without offering ways to help them improve.
-Forced multiple stupid ‘pop quizzes’ on the headset to test out knowledge of the store, interrupting the important conversations like where certain products go.

Now all of this seems bad, but he was smart about it, and managed to avoid doing anything too bad to cross a line. There is an anonymous complaint line, but they rarely do anything unless something illegal happens, so few people bother since he never crosses that line. Today though, he fucked up.

I was on my 10 minuet break, when he came in and yelled at me for being slow. He refused to elaborate but got all condescending with me, telling me he could have done it in two hours. (It was the pet aisle where some of the bags are 50 lbs.)
He then forced me to stop my 10 minuet break so I could catch up. This is illegal, at least in the state I was in. I can file a legal complaint to the anonymous complaints forum now, and I plan on sharing every juicy detail.
