As someone who used to deliver pizza in the late 2000's and early 2010's I thoroughly enjoyed my job. Drove around smoking weed listening to my favorite music all night. Even made decent tips, and had extra food waiting for me back at work. My 18 year old brain couldn't fathom a better gig.
Looking at the way things are now I can't imagine walking away with anything monetary wise. Has being a pizza delivery person just been phased out altogether? Like, I still see them on the road, but I was pretty shocked to see Doordash show up when I didn't even use the fucking app.
Idk man, I feel bad for the industry workers who have to bear the brunt of this fucked up situation. Sign of the times I guess…
