Boss Got Cyberbullied

Got a relatively new boss, with relatively new unpopular policies. They more or less boil down to him wanting absolute control. One of those policies is no food and drink on the shop floor, but he's regularly seen eating and drinking himself. Usually about two minutes before he gets in someone's face about it. A few days ago someone posted a joke about it on a facebook group. The group is about the company, but not ran by the company. It's just a social thing made by and for us regular folk employees. Another member of management made sure to post on there saying the policy was a safety concern. But like… The picture had nothing to do with the policy itself, just the fact that the person implimenting it was ignoring it. The real problem comes in the fact that the very next day, the person who posted the picture got walked out.

Personally, I feel like it's a massive blemish on his character. Firing someone because he got called out on his bs. But I also feel like there's probably some legal recourse here? I mean, there's no way that posting a picture on facebook is a fireable offense, and there's no way it doesn't infringe on at least a couple of constitutional rights.
