Does your employer have to disclose if they take “gifts” our of your paycheck?

Long story short my company runs a committee that is designed to reward employees who consistently show up and go the extra mile. One program rewards for perfect attendance. Using PTO or sick time does not count agaisnt attendance which is awesome. If you have a perfect attendance for a whole quarter you get to spin a prize wheel. The prize wheel usually has gift cards from 25-50 dollars or extra PTO awards. I recently won a 25 dollar gift card. Only to find that they took it out of my check. Is this legal? They sell it as an “extra benefit” and do not disclose that it will be taken from your pay.
