I work for a pretty popular convenience store but in recent years its gone through a lot of changes. Right now they are having managers go around and write people up for every little thing they mess up on with our extremely strict uniform policy with the open intention of firing off the undesirables we had to hire during covid. We hired a lot of people they apperently want rid of and they are using apearance policy to cut them out. On top of that they are integrating amazons camera technology into all of our stores to keep a closer eye on us and the customers, some serious equipment that uses AI to watch people from the secont they enter. They intend to use it to prevent theft, increase sales by observing customers patterns and also make sure employees are staying active on the job. “Odd” behavior will be flagged automatically and reviewed. Super creepy to me. We haven't signed anything new with all of this so is there anything we can do or is it best just to leave? This place is run like a cult and a lot of people defend it fiercely but everyone jokes about it being a cult.
