Mine was as a roofing labourer when I was 17, just wanted some cash for the summer and got hired by this shady sub contractor that paid cash. His truck reeked of alcohol and pot, he got me on the roof to rip shingles by myself the entire day, didn’t even have a safety harness for me. The guy kept coming up with excuses as to why he’s sitting in his truck all day.
Stepped on a few nails, almost fell off the roof like 4 times and having absolutely no roofing experience I ended up ripping shingles for 12 hours straight BY MYSELF lol, at the end of the day I was just so tired and sore I forgot to ask for the cash. He dropped me off and said he’d be back in the morning to pick me up, he ghosted me and I didn’t even get my money, turns out he used a fake name and phone number too lol.
