I’ve about hit my limit with my boss

The point of this post is don’t be like me. I started working for an employee owned company about 2 years ago. This means I get company shares every year and so does every employee whether your the CEO or the janitor. I really like the company and it’s values and I get compensated more than fairly for what I do. Overall I’m very happy that I work for this company and I believe in what it stands for. My boss on the other hand is the biggest piece of shit I’ve ever worked for in my entire life. He belittles me and makes me feel stupid. He plays mind games and flexes his power. He refuses to take accountability for his actions and constantly blames me for things that he does. He micromanages everything and is yet somehow unclear about expectations. He has unrealistic expectations about how long it should take me to do something.

I about hit my breaking point early last week. I’m not going to get into specifics but he said something to me that made me so angry I wanted to throw my computer out the window.

I then realized that my self confidence and mental health had steadily been declining since I started and it was because my boss is abusive.

I finally did the right thing and reached out to the director of HR and asked if I can work for anybody else in the company. After talking with him he said that if my boss couldn’t make it work with me then he wouldn’t be in a leadership position anymore (apparently there were more people before me who couldn’t deal with this guy.)

I am currently on paid leave for the time being while they find a new team for me to work for and my boss has been let go after I showed them all the emails and messages that I pulled from the past two years.

If something like this is happening to you don’t be like me and wait two years. Say something to someone.

TLDR: if your boss is abusive talk to someone
