Got laid off Monday. A little about my mood the last 3 days.

As the title says, I got laid off Monday. It was basically a call from the VP telling 50 or so of us that “our jobs are gone, Monday is our final day and goodbye.” Monday: Get laid off. Have a feeling of excitement somewhat, for the next phase of my life. Tuesday: A little depressed knowing I have to start job searching. Reached out to my network to see what’s out there. The job market is an absolute mess. Today: I didn’t sleep at all last night. I keep thinking about how companies really don’t care about you. When you get laid off, nobody from the company calls to see how you’re doing. And I worked for a company that’s motto is “we do the right thing” “we put people first.” It’s all bs. Monday: Get laid off.

Once you’re laid off, it’s fuck you and good luck. You could be face down in a ditch somewhere and the company that laid you off wouldn’t give af. It makes me weep for humanity.

It just goes to show that these companies don’t give a shit about you. Put in your 40 hours, give them your life and in return they will get rid of your ass and when they do all you are is a poor schmuck that gave up years of your life thinking the people you worked for had your best interest at heart. They don’t.
