Supervisor won’t fix our A/C

I'm kinda wondering if I'm in the wrong here. I've been with the same company for 10 years now. We work construction in the plants. The a/c is out in the company truck we use at the plant, and we are in the southeast where it gets pretty hot. Combining that with our job being strenuous and the units we work in being even hotter than the temp outside, it gets to be pretty miserable at times. We used to have cool down areas around the plant, but after covid, the plant did away with them. So for the past few years, the trucks were our way to cool down and get a break from the heat. We used to have cool down areas around the plant, but after covid, the plant did away with them. So for the past few years, the trucks were our way to cool down and get a break from the heat.

I asked them about the a/c and one supervisor told me that they couldn't get it fixed because the company wouldn't approve it. His boss it the one that rubbed me the wrong way. He told me that he hopes the a/c goes out in all the trucks. It keeps people from sitting in them and burning fuel.

I've been here for 10 years. I usually have a crew of one or two guys with me, and we knock out our work quickly. We don't abuse the company by taking long breaks in the trucks. We cool off and get back to work.

Am I in the wrong for being mad over this, or is it a legitimate issue? Also, we work for a multimillion dollar company.
