Final warning that I didn’t see coming

Preface: I have worked at Medline c75 in Lacey, WA for almost 2 years (anniversary coming up in July). Everytime me and my boss have our monthly check in meeting, the review is always the same, “I wish I had 10 more like you.” I think it would be safe to assume that I have a pretty good work ethic. So what am I doing on this subreddit? Well, I'll tell you.

Last week, my boss and I had a detailed discussion during which he established that I would not be able to take yesterday off as I wanted due to someone else already claiming it. I told him that I had already made plans and they could not be cancelled. He took a look at my paid sick leave and we agreed that's what I would use to cover the lost time.

So off I go to enjoy my three day weekend. (I work Sundays thru Thursdays).

Imagine my shock and horror as I come back to work on Monday and find myself being escorted to the office to sign a Final Warning form detailing that I should have informed someone that I was not coming in on Sunday.

Let me reiterate that I have been here for nearly two years, and that this is my first Final in ANY category.

If I ever had any doubt that my time here increased their loyalty to me, that is now completely gone.

As if I ever thought for a moment that my loyalty meant anything. At least I know my boss isn't playing favorites.
