I work in a kitchen and you're not supposed to work with food for 48 hours after having symptoms of diarrhoea or being sick (at least in the UK). I called in this morning to say I had thrown up and couldn't come to work in 4 hours. I was told I need to get myself better for my shift tomorrow. Regardless of the 48 hour thing, who says that to someone who tells you they are sick?
