Title says it all. Do employers and society-at-large actually give any incentive to go to work other than to just get money. Sure for the tiny, tiny percentage of people who are in their “dream job” there is a lot of incentive because you're doing something you love, but for the rest of us, what is the incentive for getting out of bed in the morning.
I swear once AI becomes good enough to replace humans in most jobs, there will be mass unemployment like we haven't seen since the Great Depression. Office work? Gone. Transportation? Gone. Manual labour? Gone. The only thing left will be technicians to make sure the systems don't go down and to fix things when they break, a few very specific, very niche high skill jobs and creative work, and even then AI programs are proving that art can be made somewhat well by an AI and will only get better as they learn.
If you think you're irreplaceable, 99.9% of you are wrong. Once bots become more economical than humans, companies will get rid of as many employees as possible. It's already happened in some industries like car manufacturing and the stock market, and it will come for you soon.
