Applications are terrible…

Background: I just graduated with my BS in Software Engineering. I had an 8 month internship and also have 4 years experience in IT. I started programming in Highschool and have a good amount of experience outside of professional work. Rant: I have been job searching for 3 months now with no luck. These positions on all job boards are labeled “Entry Level” or “Jr position” but when you read the description, they state “5+ years of professional work experience in _____ field required.” How is this right? How is this a Jr or Entry level position yet I need experience of 5+ years? It just pisses me off that these companies are just blatantly lying so they can either get people's info to sell from job applications or are so blind to their own job postings and expecting an experienced engineer to apply. I have gone through multiple iterations…

I have gone through multiple iterations of a resume (paying in the process to get it updated to the “best” format for positions) and I just cannot seem to land an interview for these “Entry Level” positions.
