It makes me really sad how time has become something to be endured rather than treasured and valued

It's just something I've noticed. For context, I am in the US and I've worked low wage jobs for the last ten years. There just seems to be this general cultural understanding that being alive is supposed to be kind of this lonely, bitter slog that just gets more and more bitter with time. It's really bleak. Granted, I didn't come from the best of circumstances, so I have my own mental health stuff going on that often makes existing really hard for me. But this is something I have noticed far outside of myself. I don't like how sort of this low-buzz (or ear-piercing) misery has become so normalized. What if things didn't have to be this bad all the time?
