Hey all,

For clarification in this post we will call the previous company “Company A”, the second company “company b” and merged “Company C”. Business is located in Ontario and Unionized.
Company A & Company B recently merged to form Company C. Honestly, it’s been more of a take over of Company B coming in and telling all employees of Company A this is the way it is.
The business is a utility (call centre based) and right now we’re in the position where we can of disconnect services for customers who have not paid. Previously, Company A has had a lot of issues with irate customers, people threatening to come to the work place and “find” an employee as well as one person threatening to come to the work place and shooting up the office. There has also been multiple lockdowns on site at our former locations. Management from Company B is telling all employees of Company A that we need to contact our customers (the general public) through our corporate email that includes our first initial and last name.Company A used to send email communications to customers through a general inbox so no employee info was released to the GP. Call centre management from Company B said no more, only send through corporate because the lead hand cannot filter through all the emails and send them out from the general inbox.
I’ve brought up my concerns with the GP having my last name and knowing where I work. I was honest with them and let them know that I have had work place stalking incidents at previous jobs, I’ve let my manager know this when I started with the company almost 6 years ago. 3 others from Company A have also spoken up with their concerns. I reiterated the concerns to management, leadhand, H&S management with past examples and no response.
The leadhand and company b manager keep pushing for us to use our corporate emails despite the evidence. Can I get some advice one direction on where to escalate this? If anything.
I’ve brought it forward to union and if it’s on in the collective agreement, they won’t really get involved. We don’t have an emergency action plan/response plan.

TIA
