I've worked for the same company for 13 years, and signed up for LinkedIn several years ago because everyone said it was a great tool for networking and interacting with peers and partners and blah blah blah… the only reason i use it now is to keep up with old coworkers that i liked enough professionally, but don't want a personal relationship with. and also to see who quit or got fired from the company i work for. but man, my feed is just full of people swinging from job to job and posting motivational quotes and reposting their ceo's post in an effort to show how much they love their new company and it's just so sad to me. these people actually expend energy to tell the world about their new line of products and how much fun they had at a trade show in the middle of nowhere and how their company is an industry leader in whatever the crap they do. like Tyler Durden said, they're just polishing the brass on the Titanic. it seems so pointless to me.
