So little bit of back story. I started working a sales position in a store. I don’t work for the store, I work in it. According to the training I did 3 months ago when I was hired. Repeatedly told me I do NOT work for store. when I first started I really wanted to do my job right. I asked to go to the top store to train but instead I was placed there when the top sales lad wasn’t there and was left with a girl who was as new as I was. I stopped caring and my supervisor didn’t push me to sell to much bc he doesn’t care. Our boss however does.
Anyways, my supervisor lets us sit at the table that we help guest at. As long as we do our job. He doesn’t push us to be the annoying sales people you hate to even look at in the store and I agree with it. Well our boss comes in once a week and my coworker and I got wrote up for sitting down.
He reprimanded us out in the area instead of taking us to the back. Even though there was no guest in sight doesn’t mean they can’t hear or the associates that work for the store. It was unprofessional. Waited a week to write me up and asked if I had any comments, blah blah blah. I told him I didn’t appreciate him reprimanding my coworker and I out on the floor and he got pissy.
Our numbers are just fine besides the actual cellphone sales and I’m gonna be honest, I think our deals are absolute shit. No one wants to pay $80 for one phone or $200 for 4 lines.
So back to the sitting down part. My supervisor had a customer complaint on him that he didn’t help her and he was on his phone. This was at the first of the month and since then Team leads in store have reported anytime we’re sitting.
I’m just done at this point. This is a slow store and I don’t get anymore sales than I did when I sat down. Boss thought this was “motivation” to sell. Thus was not, it pissed me off and made feel me alienated and like in highschool, that I have grown adults smiling in my face and reporting me for sitting down when I handle their department bc they won’t leave their employees back there.
