In jobs I’ve been in lately (UK), this has been the rules. I am a sick person, I have a shot immune system due to underlying health conditions. I was fired from my last job because I had 5 sick instances in a year when I was only allowed 3. I don’t understand how any human can possibly only be sick less than 3 times a year?
I’m in a new good job now but I’ve been sick 2 times in the past 3 weeks. I’ve been giving a warning letter that I have one more strike and I’m out. When I started the job I told them about my health conditions, but that doesn’t matter. The stress of going from job to job, and the stress of these warnings, make my health even worse. I suffer mentally and physically. If I lose this job, I can’t afford to pay my rent. I don’t know what I can do. I can’t work when I’m throwing up non-stop, or if I lose my voice from the flu and can’t be on the phones. I’ve thrown up in multiple jobs and been sent home, I’ve fainted in two jobs and had ambulances pick me up, I’ve had severe migraines that stop me from being able to read the computer screen. I don’t know how to live like this.
