For background: I work in a public library, we’re almost all union, except for admin. I’m other words, nobody can be fired without following a long torturous bureaucratic process, so the behavior I’m about to describe can’t be about a need to cover one’s ass. I have a co-worker, a fellow department head, who has made it a habit to cc the deputy director when she has any kind of a conflict with a co-worker or if someone in another department makes a mistake that affects her work. For my part, if someone does something that I think
is a mistake or a problem, I talk to them about it, without getting anyone else involved. Is her behavior as bitchy as I think it is?
