I work for 2 hotels in the food and beverage department. The one hotel is just banquets so it's on call- position + gratuity.
The other one is a Cafe as a barista. Been there for like 5 months or so, started off at 5 days and probably soon will have 3 days. It has been slow and they try to cut as many hours. Came in the other day and my manager told me the hotel manager was angry that he scheduled 3 people instead of 2 acting all scared of her. Because is slow and all, I was sent home within 4 hours. I don't even think she said anything but wouldn't be surprised if he gets any sort of bonus of keeping the payroll even.
And the other hotel, I do banquets and same nonsense. They schedule me at random times when they know I work elsewhere. Over there I am kinda like last minute flex, people have been there for like 20 years and then they bring their relatives in. Their relatives will get the good duties while me and other newer hires will just bus. Captain comes around me obviously lying about how he loves working with me and then he says I don't have to come in x or y days since I work somewhere else too cutting my hours like that.
Yeah just venting because of dealing with manipulative, fake bosses. Sometimes I want to tell them they are full of BS.
