My autistic friend got hired onto a lumber mill as a wood wrapper, this is his thighs after one day of work

So yeah I'm kinda pissed, they either didn't provide him with the proper gear, equipment or lifting techniques. Supposedly they're really hard on new hires. What can he do about this legally?
