My 16 year old daughter is working at a stable as a camp assistant/counselor. The owner screamed at her yesterday because she couldn’t finish a task… a task that couldn’t be completed as there wasn’t enough equipment to begin with (this was the final straw btw). The owner’s expectations are consistently unclear, and she insists my kid will be unemployable if she doesn’t learn to “suck it up”. I’m of the opinion that we don’t accept abuse and we leave (there was no contract, she’s being paid substantially less than minimum wage, and she no longer rides with this stable). It goes without saying that the owner is a Boomer.
