I work with a bunch of Type A personalities (boss included), but I’m the opposite, will do what needs to be done with little complaint. Our boss asked the team to come up with a process guide for one of our tasks. One lady on the team started the first edit, I did the 2nd. That lady responded to my edits with 8 suggestions. Most were for formatting and the big one was to change the path of where to find the information because she said “it leads you to the wrong information”. Well I went to her and asked her what she meant because the path is right. She shows me her way of doing it and said that’s the right way. Then she said she doesn’t know where my path leads to. So I show her and it is faster and has the same results. She continues to say that’s not how she does it. At this point I’m getting frustrated and said I’ll leave it because it has the same result. She then says she doesn’t like how I formatted the chart and words in the document. I said well you are more thank welcome to fix it. She goes on to say that she’s very particular about this and She makes sure to always run it through more than once before sending to the team. I said well it’s still a work in progress and I’ll see what I can do. I respond to all and say the same thing. My question is, can I talk to our boss about this? The lady is always particular about little things and adamant we do it her way. She’s always suggesting how to respond to emails and how we save documents. She’s been here the longest and is always very soft spoken to my boss and I don’t know if I can even speak up to how overbearing she is. TIA
