Fire from job

Hello! First post and using mobile so if format is off that’s why. So to begin I use to work for a food service delivery company (think US foods, Sysco, mcLane) I worked at a satellite location which is a small group of drivers (6 of us) that service a location too far for the main hub to efficiently deliver too. With that being said we got paid by the hour and had delivery windows that they wanted us to hit my start time was 4am and my finish time was normally 3pm give or take, throughout my tenure with the company (5 years) I became hyper efficient and would finish the routes 1-2hrs ahead of my finish time and I started to notice this on my checks, so I started occasionally staying clocked in (7 times in 6 months) after I finished my route early to my scheduled finish…

Hello! First post and using mobile so if format is off that’s why.

So to begin I use to work for a food service delivery company (think US foods, Sysco, mcLane) I worked at a satellite location which is a small group of drivers (6 of us) that service a location too far for the main hub to efficiently deliver too.

With that being said we got paid by the hour and had delivery windows that they wanted us to hit my start time was 4am and my finish time was normally 3pm give or take, throughout my tenure with the company (5 years) I became hyper efficient and would finish the routes 1-2hrs ahead of my finish time and I started to notice this on my checks, so I started occasionally staying clocked in (7 times in 6 months) after I finished my route early to my scheduled finish time. My other coworkers had similar schedules but will consistently finish 1-2hrs behind schedule, one of those coworkers got wind of me doing this after I would finish and decided it was “ against his moral compass “ and that I was stealing time from the company, even tho like said prior he had a similar schedule 3am-2pm but he was finishing normally 1-2hrs behind. The coworker that felt this was wrong went to my supervisor and told him what I was doing which caused the supervisor talked to me and told me to stop so I did, afterward word got around that nothing serious happened to me he decided that I deserved more of a punishment so he went to the company HR Hotline to report me “stealing wages” the company just looks at numbers and not scheduled times so unlike my supervisor who saw that I was staying until my scheduled departure they only saw that I was ON DUTY at the yard for 1hr longer than scheduled, so I was subsequently fired.
I’m hurt and confused I guess It doesn’t make sense to me that I’m finishing so far ahead that even if I’m staying clocked in longer than I needed too I’m still saving them money since the other drivers are constantly 1-2hrs behind schedule. Shit wack you can’t trust anyone

(Again sorry if this reads bad I’m emotional and on mobile)
