What would you say if you got caught?

I’d like to think I’m a good employee. I’m fast, accurate, and prompt with my work and replying to emails, good at following up with requests, all that jazz. Other employees and managers have thanked me for helping them and my hard work. That’s not really relevant but they’ve emailed me their thank-you messages so there’s concrete evidence that I’m an asset to the company. The problem is, there isn’t enough work to fill my whole 8 hr shift so I’ll goof off on my phone in the meantime. The signal is usually pretty good so I almost never have to connect to the workplace wifi, but I did once in a moment of weakness when I couldn’t get signal on my phone for some reason last week. It was all pretty innocent stuff I did like go on reddit or watch youtube, and I still got all my work…

I’m paranoid now that they’ll find out. What would you say if you got caught in these circumstances? It should go without saying that I don’t want any additional responsibilities either
