i work at a small but very busy, successful coffeeshop. our owner comes in maybe a dozen times a year at most, i figure that she mostly does administration stuff from home. she came in today to inspect this new cold brew tap that we got that automatically makes nitro cold brew similar to what starbucks has, and i overheard her and two of my managers discussing how it works.
she literally doesn’t know her own menu. she was like, so does this make cold foam iced coffee? and they were like no, and she started asking questions about what cold foam is, what a nitro cold brew is, what a macchiato is and what the difference between that and a latte is, all this stuff… this business has been making coffee for TEN YEARS and has made her a MULTI-MILLIONAIRE and she literally doesn’t even know her own fucking menu. i’m astounded.
