‘in 5 years….’

interviewed for a job where i was told ahead of time that i would not get the money i was looking for, but their HR guy told me i should go to the interview anyways. so i went, but wasn't going to take it seriously. they were trying to smooth over the lower pay with their awesome company culture, late nights, but barbecue on the weekends, implying spending even more time with these people. then they went ahead and dropped that old cliche, 'where do you see yourself in 5 years?' i just said, 'doing this, but a little fatter'. the HR guy was mad i didn't take it seriously. called me back a week later to tell me i wasn't a good fit, how they found someone who was more experienced, and better suited for the job, and they were going to hire them instead. i was so sad…

the HR guy was mad i didn't take it seriously. called me back a week later to tell me i wasn't a good fit, how they found someone who was more experienced, and better suited for the job, and they were going to hire them instead. i was so sad for this HR guy that he had that 'breaking up' energy, and really needed me to know that i missed out on something.
