HR held a company meeting to inform us a guy who’s been off for a couple of weeks, his father passed away

We were told to be sensitive around him… Am I the only one not missing the irony here? I'd be completely fucking mortified if I found out this had happened to me. Context: UK, 30 person office, 1 HR lady (tyrant)
