HIPPA and safety

So I took a job with a family practice as a medical assistant. I do my Epic training in the first week while the office manager decides she's goin on a conference the first 4 days im hired. Which doesn't seem like a big deal but she left her already overwhelmed and extended staff for me to deal with. The second week in she is suggesting that there just isn't enough room for all of us behind the window. Mind you, there a whole table right behind is she could've used for Patient disharge leaving enough spots open for patient Check In. Third week in she decides to put me out in the waiting room, taking patients demographics and information behind a curtain all Wizard Of Oz style. This seems like a HIPPA violation and I no longer feel safe as my back is to the door and I'm in…

Am I stupid for not sticking it out? Should I have been more flexible?

Edit: I also forgot to add that the 3rd week she hired her niece, took away my Wednesdays and then tried to pressure me into working late Fridays to cover for her niece. Agreed upon schedule was M -F 8am to 3pm.
