Hi everyone. As the title says, the company I'm working at doesn't pay in accordance with the hours on our timesheets.
Ever since I started working here, I have heard other employees talking about how the boss reduces hours from our actual working time, so I took a picture of my timesheet on my last clock-out before payday. Evidently, I worked for 102.5 hours this period, but only got paid for 100 hours. Who knows how much have been cut from my previous pay checks. Apparently, it's to account for the time it takes for us to go to the bathroom, or to go between work stations (mind you, each work station are only a few steps away from the other).
I am unable to work laborious jobs due to a medical condition, and this is the only company (that I know of) that will hire me for an engineering position without a degree nor any previous experiences. So until I am able to get a degree, I think it's in my best interest to stay with this company. I just feel frustrated that the boss would take away from our already-bare-minimum salary.
I'm not sure if this is the norm, but the employees were talking about it nonchalantly, in a “it is what it is” way, no one called him out for it. I am taking to this subreddit to ask for you guys' thoughts about this whole thing and what is the right reaction to all of this.
