Today I had an email telling me that I had to go for a meeting re “data breach's” (yes — my office manager thinks you make a plural by putting “'s” at the end…so she's not good at the “office” or the “manager” part… not quite sure what qualifies her for this job), the thing that my coworker ratted me out to our three bosses AND our office manager (he'd lied about the latter, but it was evident today).
To be clear — I did not commit a data breach. I ALMOST did, which was still bad, but I did not actually. The rat commits many offenses — including his own data breach, just today — a great deal. A great deal more than I do.
Anyway, a fun thing happened, two of my other coworkers brought up how much they hate people who rat on others at work. Quite out of the blue! The rat had to just sit there feeling despised for 10 minutes while we were all ragging on them, without my having said anything about him specifically (nor would I — what am I, some kind of hypocrite?)
It clearly got to him, as he marched off and had a little private chat with another coworker in the kitchen.
As he came back he pointedly said “I mean, you're literally bottom of the heap, it has to happen sometimes” (allegedly still speaking to my coworker, but obviously — and deliberately right next to me — referencing me and his “reasoning” for ratting me out).
It was amusing really. He is just as my friends were describing people who needlessly tell on others — a pathetic snake.
