Beyond Pissed Off

Started working for my current employer around a year and half ago. Put graduate school on pause since I started, due to lack of time. The pay is good but not the best since I live in New York, absolutely didn't care since this was a company that I loved prior to working with. Month ago, I was pulled into the office to get told that I would be getting promoted with extreme higher pay. My boss stated that I would have a meeting with both her and my other boss to discuss everything. They scheduled a meeting towards the end of August. Yesterday, a new hire walked in with the title of what I was supposed to be promoted as.

Apparently, the new hire is related to my other boss and lost her job, a week ago. (she stated this to my other coworker)

When I confronted my boss they just said, “we don't think you're ready for it”.

I'm beyond pissed but honestly not even fucking surprised.
