Soooo I have been working for a large corporate shitco for 15+ years. I have a very very flexible and easy to manage schedule as an outside sales role. This makes other folks jealous that have physical jobs no doubt.
During the last 3 years this said company has had all time low inventory. Also, they took the opportunity to lower pay to revenue based vs GP based into the healthy profitable upswing of price (low supply, high margin). It has been very hard to make a living on commission.
So, of course, I go over and above to help clients, especially the good ones, including doing physical work for them in some scenarios (not directly compensated for time). Sometimes pass on leads and connect dots so everyone keeps moving while we can’t supply. Other clients where the commissions are very small, or they are hard to help, I tent to give less time to – which has actually led to some complaints.
Last week I had a client ask for a new rep based on an extended delivery period and slow response via me (difficult client). Instead of my manager sticking up for me, I was removed from the account.
Anyways, next thing I know, there is an entire team of folks on the other side of the business reporting me for ethical violations.
Full ethics investigation. First time ever.
Only for this process to be left hanging because of everyone’s holidays internally…
