Hey everyone
So I accepted this remote full-time job, and my manager seemed nice and understanding enough; I was excited, things seemed fine, I knew about the 3-month trial, and I was okay with it. I've never gotten fired before, and I always go above and beyond for my clients… Well, this time is different.
I found out very quickly that this manager is a hot mess:
_ She never told me what to do or gave me a precise task.
_ She went on vacation for weeks without letting me know and was left alone on a conference call every day until I contacted a team member who I never talked to before and told me that she was on vacation.
_ She blamed me – not directly – for the terrible situation of the team when she never told me what to do in the first place. She also implied that it's my 3-month evaluation soon, and she has to show my work, and there's nothing to show.
Not to mention that she ignore my texts and emails about work for hours.
Honestly, I'm lost. Should I quit before she fires me by the end of the month, or should I just wait?
The problem is that I know the CEO and his partner and had a great relationship with them for years when I worked in a different department. I can't go to them directly because she's more senior, and she is in the office, and I'm just a remote worker and could be easily replaced.
Also, I learned a lot about Exit interviews -thanks to this sub-, and I don't want to burn my bridges, but also not sure what to do.
Any advice is welcomed.
