I swear, I never thought I would be using this as a sound board but ALAS here I am!
I have spent the last 3 years developing and providing a franchise development company of 2 duds the tools to success to scale
In this time we have scaled from 2 to multi unit locations in multiple states and on the horizon to scale more.
My salary has remind the same while the net profits have increased, system has been streamlined and executed to its full potential. I have taken a grand total of 3 weeks “vacation” 1 by this I mean the typical bullshit of constant emails, texts and calls while I am supposed to be away.
I have burnt out heavily this year and feel I am at rock bottom with nowhere to go and nothing to do. I have applied constantly at different jobs and have been rejected without an interview or conversation with the typical “at this time, we have decided on…” so I’m feeling the anxiety kick on….
In the same time frame, the other duds have spent over 6 months of time away from the company & country practicing their religion.
I expressed to the duds I needed to take time off for my mental health and well being and was recently met with a “absolutely but remember to have the operations needs and interest before taking time off”….
So to ask the fellow crowd
Am I an asshole for telling them that in order to keep the machine growing they need to put their practice on hold, shut the fuck up and allow me to take time away before I walk away and let the ship implode?
