I've been working in this company for about 3 year, when I started, they promised to give me a rise on my second year if I kept productivity up, which I did. The second year came and nothing!
Since they didn't do their part on our deal, I started delivering a crappy work. In my country if an employee is laid off, they get some kind of benefits and I wasn't about to miss that, so I started to only show up occasionally.
It went on for almost a year.
The day my boss fired me, he said that I'd probably new the reason and just said to drop by the HR and said I should come back the next day to return my uniform and my employee id. But, the next day we were supposed to have a pretty good meal for lunch, so I decided to go to work as usual, with my uniform on and some other clothes on my backpack to change it latter. While I was there I managed not to see my coworkers (it was a pretty big company). At lunch time, I ate that delicious meal, even got seconds and thirds, then I changed out my uniform and gave it back to my boss among with my employee id and left for good.
Best decision ever!
