Losing a $1.56 raise

I work for a pretty large company. 10k employees. 7k of them are unionized, including me. I recently applied for a few different positions at the same company. I got an offer. I currently make $24.41. The offer was for $25.97. So I accepted it and tunnel visioned on it, canceling another interview, and even canceling vacation i had planned for my sons first day of kindergarten. Bc that just happened to be the first day of training for my new job. Then 4 days into my new job I ask HR why my pay hasn't been updated. They call me in confusion. They claim now my pay should never have changed and that the offer was a typo on their part. My first offer was meant for a new hire. Which is insane they get paid so much more but beside the point. My second offer, in which I accepted, was changed to fit a current employee, expect for the pay. It was still 25.97. They claim that bc of the union contract, they cant increase pay for a “lateral” move. So then I stated how the offer is no longer honored. The pay increase was by far the #1 reason I accepted it and missed out on multiple opportunities bc of it. So we should have to start at sqr 1 and come up with a new official offer. They agreed. They sent a new one today that had no changes made to it. So i sent an email to them to send an official proofread offer, that I get the option to accept or deny.

Unfortunately, I cant accept the job for the same pay bc there's way less OT available and tbh the work is tougher. Not physically, but mentally. I also wouldn't be able to listen to podcasts all day like I can in my old shop. So why tf would I accept the new offer? I cant.

I have copies of all my emails and offers.

The Union has about a 5% chance of helping me. I'm out of it if they don't. I don't have much faith in them.

Do I by any chance have any legality options? Pardon my ignorance.
