Anyone feel like they are ‘too old’ (or ‘too experienced’) to be managed anymore?

Serious but dumb question please. I work in tech as a 'SME', and have been doing this type of work for years. Got reprimanded today for being unavailable at a certain point in the day (I wanted focus time – I can provide more context if desired). Reprimanded by a s*** manager that doesn't know heads from tails. Led to a long string of people further reprimanding me and talking to me like I was a 5 year old. Found myself being anxious for a second then just.. not.. caring.. and thinking 'damn, I'm too old for this..' .. Then just being mad. Anyone else feel like their done with being managed? How do you deal with the feeling day in day out? Cause I recognize in the working world we don't always have or make the choice not to. Also recognize I'm too old (40+) to be asking this…

Edit: this is my first post here after lurking on this sub for a long time. Thanks for all your comments, support and perspectives
