So at work, a job I started just over a year ago, I've been getting chewed out by my boss for things I don't remember doing or events that I don't remember happening. The first thing was a safety issue involving safety glasses, in the entire year since I started I've never once had a issue with wearing them, I always wear them, and in my previous job, a similar factory position in which I worked 5 years I never had a single citation for not wearing my safety glasses. Then in just two days my boss said that twicr he spotted me without my glasses on and that the next time he'd write me up for it. That hasn't happened since but I don't remember not wearing my glasses, I even asked my team leader and she said she's never had to tell me to put them on nor has she ever seen me without them.
The next thing he told me is that I spent too much time on a particular machine zoning off and not doing anything, blaming me for low production numbers on a particular job. I worked that entire day on this machine that he knows is slow but I think he still just expected more than was possible. He even said we needed to set up another machine but he never got around to getting that done or even just assigning someone to do it. He chewed me out for it and said, and I quote; “I think you knew you were having a bad day but you just kept working on it anyway. I was too busy to come over to tell you to change positions or to check on you but you shouldn't have been on that position.”
My teammate on that particular day said that he never noticed me “zoning out” and said that we did all we could with a given slow machine. I really don't know why my boss is doing this all of a sudden, but thats pretty much my entire post. Maybe this isn't the right place to put this, but I wanted to see what you all thought.
Thanks for reading.
